Marc Brutten

Founder and Chairman

Marc Brutten is the founder and chairman of Westcore. Since the company’s inception in 2000, Marc has overseen its strategic investment in industrial properties in key markets around the world, building its domestic and international portfolio to over 25 million square feet and over $4.5 billion in total asset value.

Marc is recognized as one of the most prolific commercial real estate investors on the west coast. Over the past 30 years, he has facilitated more than $7 billion in property acquisitions totaling over 900 buildings and 40 million square feet. He has been particularly successful in the acquisition of portfolios and properties that require repositioning and aggressive management in order to function more successfully in their respective environments.

Prior to forming Westcore, Marc was president of Shidler West, Inc. Under his direction, the company’s industrial portfolio grew from 100,000 square feet to more than 11.3 million square feet and the company’s asset value grew from $20 million to $800 million. Marc started measuring his investment performance in 1993 and over the last 22 years, his audited unlevered investment return is 22% per annum.

Marc is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego where he is a trustee emeritus.

Donald Ankeny

Co-Chairman

Donald Ankeny is Co-Chairman of Westcore, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer from 2005 to 2025. Prior to joining Westcore, Don’s real estate background includes starting and overseeing the real estate group at Robertson Stephens, a global investment banking firm that was acquired by Bank of America and later by BankBoston. Prior to Robertson Stephens, Don was a partner at Trammell Crow Company.

Don graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a distinction in economics. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Don is a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and a Gold council member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He is a former trustee of the Bishop’s School in La Jolla, CA where he chaired the Finance and Investment Committee as well as the School’s Endowment Campaign. Don is a past recipient of the San Diego Business Journal’s CEO of the Year award, EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year award, and Real Estate Forum’s Best Bosses in the Business award.

Andrew Burke

Chief Executive Officer

Andrew Burke (Andy) is the Chief Executive Officer of Westcore. Prior to joining Westcore in 2025, Andy was Managing Director, Head of Industrial at Tishman Speyer.  He established a global platform, raising and investing capital across the US and Europe. He also spent 14 years at Terreno Realty Corporation (NYSE: TRNO) as an Executive Vice President. Andy was on the original management team that established Terreno’s national platform and took the company public in 2010. At Terreno, Andy oversaw acquisitions, dispositions, development, asset management and operations of industrial properties in New York, New Jersey, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C.  He also held investment positions at AMB Property Corporation (now Prologis), Sun Microsystems, and Fidelity Investments.

Andy graduated from Duke University with a BA in History and a Markets and Management Studies certificate.  He is a member of ULI, NAIOP and the Office and Industrial Advisory Council for IPA/Marcus & Millichap.  He is a Trustee of Marin Country Day School.

Michael Helms

Michael Helms

President

Michael Helms serves as President of Westcore. Michael joined in 2013 as a Director of Finance and previously served as Westcore’s Chief Financial Officer

Michael is a member of Westcore’s Board of Directors, Investment Committee, and Management Committee.

Prior to joining Westcore, Michael held finance positions with DJO Global, a Blackstone Group portfolio company, and Sony Electronics (NYSE: SNE). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business.

Hack Adams

Hack Adams

Chief Acquisitions Officer

Hack Adams serves as the Chief Acquisitions Officer at Westcore, where he leads teams focused on acquisitions, development, and leasing.

Since joining Westcore, Hack has led over 110 acquisitions representing more than $9 billion in total transaction volume. He has also executed over 1,000 lease transactions, totaling more than $1 billion in gross consideration.

Hack is a past President and current Executive Committee member of the San Diego Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. He is also actively involved with the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).

He serves on the Board of Directors for Santa Fe Christian Schools and is actively involved in Seeds of Hope, a San Diego-based charity focused on supporting underserved families through education, nutrition, and housing initiatives.

Hack earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Faris Mansour

Managing Director, Head of Portfolio Management

Faris Mansour is Head of Portfolio Management at Westcore. Faris focuses on the firm’s investment strategy, fund formation, strategic partnership, and client relations,

Prior to joining Westcore, Faris served as managing director, head of business development, Americas & EMEA for PGIM Private Alternatives, where he managed capital raising teams across three continents, and led the fund formation and capital raising for the firm’s global real estate product base.

Prior to his role at PGIM, he led investment, product development, strategic partnerships and fund raising for Mubadala in a joint venture with PGIM to create a new real estate investment management platform.  Additionally, Faris held senior roles focused on real estate and infrastructure investment at Macquarie Capital and BMO. He has extensive experience in sourcing, structuring and executing asset acquisitions, funds, joint ventures and entity-level transactions in the real estate and infrastructure asset classes, and has worked in Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

Faris is currently a member of the INREV committee on due diligence. He holds a BA in economics from the University of Chicago.

Nick Markos

Nick Markos

Managing Director, Head of Asset Management

Nick Markos serves as the Managing Director, Head of Asset Management, where he leads the firm’s asset management, property management, and construction management functions across Westcore’s national portfolio.  Since joining Westcore in 2015, Nick has led the asset management group, been involved in transactions totaling over $7.5 billion, and is responsible for Westcore’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs and chairs Westcore’s ESG Committee.

Prior to joining Westcore, Nick worked for the Port of San Diego a major West Coast cargo port, where he specialized in real estate asset management across a 135-acre industrial marine terminal, three major shipyards, multiple convention hotels, and waterfront retail.

Nick is an active member of NAIOP and the University of San Diego Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate’s Mentorship Program. Nick is an IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt holder and a certified Argus Power User. He holds a Master of Science in Real Estate and a BA from the University of San Diego.

Matt Frey

Matt Frey

Vice President, Construction

Matt Frey is Vice President of Construction at Westcore. Matt oversees all active construction projects. This includes management oversight, forecasting, budgeting, scheduling and the overall repositioning of assets.
Additionally, he works alongside the acquisitions, property management, and leasing teams for capital planning and to determine the construction requirements for each property.

Prior to joining Westcore, Matt was a Project Manager for JMI Realty, LLC. He has an in-depth background and understanding of the building industry and construction details through his 20+ year tenure in the business.
Before joining JMI, Matt worked for some of San Diego’s largest construction firms and built an impressive resume of projects across multiple market sectors totaling over 2 million Square Feet of commercial improvements that amount to over $500 million of in-place work.

Matt graduated from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.

Lauren Suazo

Lauren Suazo

Vice President, Leasing

Lauren Suazo serves as Vice President of Leasing at Westcore and is responsible for leasing efforts specifically within its California, Arizona, Colorado, Salt Lake City, the Pacific Northwest and Midwest Portfolios. Lauren focuses on effectively repositioning assets, leasing up vacancies in partnership with third party brokers, and tenant retention. Lauren is also involved in the disposition process; successfully completing sale transactions to institutional owners as well as owner-users.

Lauren joined the Westcore team in 2009. She is currently on the Board of the San Diego Chapter for National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP). Lauren is also an active mentor for the University of San Diego, Center for Real Estate, Undergraduate Mentorship Program.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the University of San Diego, graduating cum laude, and is a licensed real estate Broker in the state of California.

Lori Jasinski

Lori Jasinski

Vice President, Property Management

Lori Jasinski, Vice President of Property Management at Westcore is responsible for oversight of the company’s Property Management personnel and establishment and implementation of strategies, processes and objectives related to Property Management involvement with transactions and asset management. She is also focused on developing and maintaining relationships with key tenants, vendors and third-party associates on a national level.

As a third-party manager for Cushman & Wakefield, Lori previously managed Westcore’s Southern California portfolio including 4.5 million square feet of Industrial and Office properties located in California, Arizona and Utah.

Prior to moving to San Diego and working with Westcore, Lori worked directly for a retail developer, River Oaks Properties, in El Paso, Texas and for PM Realty Group in Houston, Texas for 14 years.

Lori is a primary volunteer for Frosted Faces Foundation, a San Diego based non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing senior animals from shelters and providing them with lifelong veterinary care and the love of a forever family.

Danny Tyson

Danny Tyson

Vice President, Acquisitions

Danny Tyson serves as the Vice President of Acquisitions at Westcore, where he is responsible for sourcing and executing industrial real estate acquisitions across Southern California, Northern California, and the Pacific Northwest. He leads all aspects of the acquisitions process, including deal sourcing, market analysis, underwriting, due diligence, and transaction execution.

Danny began his career at Westcore in 2015, where he quickly made an impact by underwriting more than 14.2 million square feet of industrial acquisitions nationwide. His strong analytical foundation and deep market insight earned him a transition into asset management, where he oversaw a diverse 11.2 million square foot national portfolio. In this role, he was responsible for leasing strategy, operational oversight, capital improvement planning, and executing business plans to drive asset value and investor returns.

Beyond acquisitions and asset management, Danny has played an integral role in fundraising and investor relations, contributing to portfolio management initiatives and institutional reporting. His cross-functional experience provides him with a comprehensive view of the full real estate investment lifecycle, from deal inception to disposition.

Danny played NCAA Division 1 Baseball at Northwestern University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics. Danny also received an MBA from the UC San Diego Rady School of Management.

London Adams

Director of Human Resources

London Adams serves as the Director of Human Resources at Westcore, where he expertly manages all facets of the HR department. His responsibilities encompass compensation and benefits, recruiting, training and development, performance management, and employee relations. With extensive experience across highly regulated industries such as manufacturing, construction, and healthcare, London is adept at navigating complex environments. He derives great satisfaction from fostering an engaging and rewarding workplace, empowering employees to become genuine brand ambassadors.

Prior to joining Westcore, London served as the Human Resources Manager for Industrial Commercial Systems and Summit Electrical, where his center of focus was on the training, retention, and attraction of all levels of highly skilled trade professionals in an ever-fluctuating competitive market. London also worked for Breg, Inc., one of the fastest growing healthcare manufacturers in the nation where he was awarded the title of cultural ambassador, responsible for developing and implementing culture and engagement initiatives company wide.

London has been an active member with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) since 2014, volunteer at the San Diego North County Food Bank and donor to the University of Oklahoma Inspiring Champions Fund.

Sam Levy

Sam Levy

Director of Debt Capital Markets

Sam Levy, Director of Debt Capital Markets at Westcore, has closed over $1 Billion in new debt for Westcore with over a dozen different lenders. In addition to sourcing debt and maintaining investor and lender relationships, he is responsible for negotiating loan documents and term sheets and for developing strategies across portfolios.

Sam brings over a decade of experience in capital markets and business & real estate law. He has relationships with hundreds of lenders across the United States and has originated billions of dollars in commercial debt throughout his career.

Before joining Westcore in 2022, Sam served as a vice president of Slatt Capital and Pacific Southwest Realty Services where he arranged financing for sophisticated investors through a wide variety of capital sources, including Banks, CMBS, Life Insurance Companies, Agencies, and Debt Funds.

Prior to that, Sam practiced law as a business and real estate attorney for several years. He represented real estate developers and banks in both litigation and transactional settings. Sam also handled matters before the United States Tax Court.

Sam received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from San Diego State University, and a Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law where he graduated in the top 10% of his class, earning membership in the Order of the Coif.
