WESTCORE TO LAUNCH NEW SMALL-CAP VALUE FUND

DENVER—(BUSINESS WIRE)—November 16, 2004—Seeing considerable value in small-cap, dividend-paying stocks with unrecognized potential, Westcore Funds will launch the Westcore Small-Cap Value Fund (WTSVX), which opens for investment on December 13, 2004. Denver Investment Advisors LLC, the Fund’s adviser, has managed institutional assets in this style for the past five years, and will apply the same long-term approach in pursuing superior risk-adjusted returns.

Managing the Fund will be the Westcore Equity Value Research Team of Kris Herrick, CFA, Troy Dayton, CFA, Derek Anguilm, CFA, Mark Adelmann, CFA, CPA, and Maia Babbs. They will combine proprietary quantitative screening and bottom-up fundamental analysis to gain an information edge into what we believe is an overlooked, yet highly attractive asset class.

“We believe our small-cap focus offers the potential for enhanced returns, while our emphasis on value and dividends should reduce the volatility and risk associated with small-cap investing” said Kris Herrick, Westcore Funds Director of Value Research. “Historically, small-cap, dividend-paying stocks have outperformed their non-dividend-paying counterparts with less risk and volatility. Furthermore, the inefficiencies associated with the small-cap market offer numerous opportunities to identify seemingly undervalued companies with improving returns.”

To avoid what is commonly referred to as the “value trap,” the Westcore Small-Cap Value Fund will focus on companies where the estimated value of their free cash flow has not been reflected in the current stock price. The Fund will also limit its purchases to stocks in which catalysts for value creation have been identified.

“Historically, dividends have been a sign of corporate strength and management confidence,” said Mr. Herrick. “Ultimately, we subscribe to the philosophy that a company’s market value is determined by its creation of economic wealth.”

With over $6.8 billion in combined assets under management,* Denver Investment Advisors LLC has built a four-decade history of research excellence. The 100% no-load Westcore Funds family, which currently consists of seven equity funds, three bond funds and a non-proprietary money market fund, offers individual investors access to the full depth and breadth of this experience, normally available only to large corporations and foundations.

* These assets include total assets of the adviser as well as mutual fund assets.

Investing in small-cap funds can be more volatile and loss of principal could be greater than investing in large-cap funds.
