Westcore Launches International
Select Fund
New Fund Unique in a Crowded Marketplace
October 25, 2000--On
November 1, 2000, Westcore Funds will open the Westcore International
Select Fund, the latest addition to their family of 13 no-load
funds. The fund will be managed by Michael Gerding, CFA, who
joined Westcore last December. Mr. Gerding has 14 years of
experience managing international portfolios and was most
recently with Founders Asset Management, where he managed
the Founders Passport and Worldwide Growth Funds.
The Westcore International Select Fund will
be a concentrated fund, investing in 20 to 35 international companies of
any size selected for their growth potential. The portfolio will be built
one company at a time, without the restrictions of any set sector or
county allocation model.
"The number of select or concentrated
funds that invest domestically has expanded dramatically in recent
years," said Mr. Gerding. "Investors are demanding them because
they allow a manager to create a concentrated portfolio of the very best
ideas they can find. We believe we are ahead of the curve on this trend on
the international side, since there are only a handful of concentrated
international funds available in the marketplace."
Mr. Gerding created and managed the
Founders Passport Fund and International Equity Fund and managed Founders
Worldwide Growth Fund from 1990 until he left Founders in June of 1999. He
was chosen as one of the world's top 100 money managers by Barron's
in 1997.*
Through Westcore Funds, individual
investors gain access to the extensive research, investment experience,
and fund management expertise more often available to large corporations
and foundations. Denver Investment Advisors, the Funds' advisor, is an
institutional money manager with over 40 years' experience and $7.5
billion in total assets** under management. The 100% no-load
Westcore Fund family consists of nine equity funds, three bond funds, and
a non-proprietary money market fund.
Investors can invest in the new Westcore
International Select Fund before November 1, 2000 to receive the opening
day NAV of $10 per share. Call 1-800-392-CORE (2673) or visit

. *Barron's
named Michael Gerding one of the top 100 money managers in the
"Simply the Best" article published July 21, 1997 to reward
outstanding stock pickers who look at a broad selection of stocks. The
rating system excluded sector, country, index funds, bond and team-managed
funds and fund managers in place less than three years. This system
accounted for risk by subtracting points for volatile years and adding
points for performance stability. Each fund was compared to other funds
with similar investment goals for the full term of the current manager.
** These
assets include total assets of the advisor as well as mutual fund assets.
Westcore International Select Fund is a
concentrated fund. Investing in concentrated funds can be more volatile
and loss of principal could be greater than investing in more diversified
funds.
